Admissions to BWI

Admissions Overview

BWI is a two form entry Church of England primary school with an agreed admission level for each year group of 60 children. We welcome applications from all those who wish their children to be educated in a school which offers a strong educational and pastoral environment within a Christian Ethos.

BWI admits children into Rainbows (the BWI Nursery) when they are approximately 3 1/2 years old where they attend either a morning or afternoon session for approximately 1 year, until they are eligible to enter full-time school (Reception).

Admission to full time education at Reception level is at either September or January for the year (1st September to the 31st August of the year following) in which your child turns five. Applications for admission are dealt with separately from the other admissions as described below.

All parents are encouraged to look around the school before submitting their applications. Individual tours conducted by the pupils and the Head Teacher can be arranged by contacting the School office on 01895 633520. There are also open tours and the dates for these can also be found from the School office.

There is also a Before & After School Club which caters for parents who need to drop their children off earlier or pick them up later than school times. Details can be found on the Before & After School Club page.

Applications

Nursery and other year groups except Reception

Applications for all childrens’ admissions, except for those applying for full time admission into education at Reception level, are dealt with by BWI Admissions Committee.  Parents should therefore either apply direct to the School office for the relevant application form, covering Admissions to either the Nursery or into year groups other than Reception or download it from the button below.

Entry into full time education at Reception level

BWI is a Voluntary Aided School and participates in the Admissions scheme run by Hillingdon Local Education Authority (LEA).

As such, parents of children, born on or after 1st September 2004 and before the 31st August 2005, are invited to collect from the Civic Centre or any primary school in Hillingdon a copy of the LEA booklet “Starting Primary School 2009/2010”, which will be available in July 2008.

The application form found within this booklet should be completed and returned to your first choice Primary School by noon on 26th September, 2008. For on-line applications the deadline is midnight on 26th SEPTEMBER 2008.

The LEA will send to parents, the results of their application by 29th January, 2009, accompanied where possible by a provisional offer of a place at one of the schools for which they have applied.

More information, including online applications, on Starting Primary School 2009/2010 will be available soon at www.hillingdon.gov.uk/schools.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Westbrook, Headteacher or Mr Pat Taverner , Chair of Admissions Committee through the School office. (See the 'Contact Us' page).
