MISSION POSSIBLE
We are in!!!!
On Tuesday 4th May the staff from Reception started to move all of the equipment back into the new Foundation Stage Unit. They look fantastic, the new kitchen facilites are in place and the walls are all painted, the carpet has been laid. The children are all very excited and are glad to be in their new surroundings.

This development represents phase one of the school's three-phase masterplan, to improve the facilities of the school for both staff and children through the re-introduction of an on-site meal service, improved nursery and reception facilities and the provision of additional teaching and support areas in place of the current buildings.
The first phase is being financed with assistance from central government to improve the provision of healthy meals within schools. While there is also funding from the London Diocese, the parents’ association will be taking a major part in fund raising.
The current programme will see meals being initially available to the staff and pupils from the start of the next academic year in September 2010 and all these improvements will be complete by the end of October 2010.

Tim Rollin, Chair of Governors said: ‘We are all very excited about this project. It is the beginning of a journey which will see the continuing development of a first rate school with the facilities and infrastructure suitable for the twenty-first century. We intend that our school should be the first choice for all prospective parents.’

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES
Our Mission Possible chart, we need to raise £50,000
At Bishop Winnington-Ingram we have been very busy raising funds for our planned redevelopment. Our first major event was the Green Day which was a non-uniform day when children donated a toy rather than a £1. The toys were then sold at a table top sale to raise fund. We then held a Transformer Challenge and Easter Bonnet parade which was sponsered by local companies. Further activites include the Easter Egg raffle the money cake sale organised by our Parents Association. We have also had three non-uniform days to commemorate the Patron Saints of England, Ireland and Wales. Mrs Westbrook and Mrs Hill ran the Brighton Marathon and this one event alone is expected to raise over £300.00.
We have also held many other events to raise money for our New Build, the Indulgence Evening was a great success with many people asking when the next one would be!! The evening raised over £600.00 which is a tremdous effort. The children also got involved in fundraising by joining Mrs Haggar on our Wizard Day , and as you can see they all had fun.
