In Year 4 our topic has been the Aztecs. We recently visited the British Museum in London to look at different artefacts of this ancient civilisation. We also looked at the Egypt room in the museum to compare the civilisations. Again we took advantage of the free transport that London Underground provide for school trips and the children look forward to this part of the trip as much as the museum!!!

      

        

        

Year 4 chose China as their country during Multicultural week and made lots of crafts associated with this country. Above are some photopgraphs pf the children in Tudors and Aztecs making Chinese Dragons and Chinese Lanterns.     

Year 4 recently visited the Globe theatre. This trip was organised to embed their Creative Curriculum topic of The Tudors.

The children have also been drawing tudor portraits, this encompasses Art into the Creative Curriculum.

The portraits involved the use of pastels or rich paints and children will paint portraits in the style of Tudor portraits.

This curriculum is rich and key skills are taught and applied to this interesting topic.
